Citizen Journalism and Enterpreneurship

Saturday, March 26, 2011, Me and friends, members of Bertuah Blogger community, Pekanbaru (Komunita Blogger Bertuah Pekanbaru) attended a seminar about online media “Citizen Journalism and Enterpreneurship”, in Padang, West Sumatra. The seminar was organized by the first and largest news portal in Indonesia, DetikCom.
Speakers in this seminar is, Budiono Darsono, founder of DetikCom and Piyu, guitarist Padi Band.
Budiono Darsono is one of the founder of DetikCom, the first news portal in Indonesia-based Internet, which was founded in 1998. In this session, Budiono Darsono which is familiarly called BDI explained how difficult it on early times he and his friends build the news portal. He also said that now, at present, the opportunity to establish a web news portal is wide open. The tips and the important is how to focus and continue to consistently maintain the quality of news that we present to society.
Meanwhile, Piyu testifies to the opportunity to do business in the Internet world, or become entrepreneurs in the internet world, relying on our creativity. As a musician, he pointed out how to profit from music sales via the internet.
A very rare opportunity to get a new enlightenment from the people who are experts in their fields.
After the seminar, we also have the opportunity to share knowledge with friends from the local blogger community, Palanta West Sumatra. In sharing information and lunch, various information about the world of the Internet, especially blogging, rolling. It’s nice to get many new knowledges from friends from other communities. Anyway this trip to West Sumatra could really taken its benefits to the development of future Community Bloggers Bertuah Pekanbaru, and the world of the Internet in general in Riau. Hopefully…
